Thought I might load some pic's of our little family,

These couple of photos were taken last year when we were living out at Mum and Dad's place, where you can see behind me that I left a legacy of Marigolds..

Oscar is awfully fond of going to the beach - it is about the only time that he will "smile" for a photo. The rest of the time he looks very serious, or dare I say, "GROUCHy"?

Austin is our other big black and white dog, he even comes when you whistle, he is rather pathetic and gets beaten up all the time, if not by the neighbours cat "Saturday" then its a hiding from Elizabeth. He and Oscar both share the laundry at night so everyone else can get some sleep. But he is a big beautiful boy who is scared of everything - most especially CHANGE!

Megsy the oldest and definitly the grumpiest in nature of our little family... this is her at her best - she smells food and is asking for a share so she isn't snarling into the camera. All kids have been advised not to go near her - no matter how sweet she looks.... looks can be decieving (just like her really)

Elizabeth is a sweetie... she acts like a little teeny weeny scaredy cat, when really she is the bravest of the lot and is very very sneaky and stirs trouble with Megsy all the time - I believe some work is at play to "dethrone the queen" - so watch out Megs! Lily-beth is also a scammer, she likes to make out that she "cant possibly jump that high" I don't know what thats about as quite clearly as this photo shows.... she can jump just fine!!!

I cant finish off without including a picture the very bestest animal in the house, and it is my Monkey boy husband - Dave!

Well I finally made some time and have loaded some more photos from our Bangkok honeymoon adventures... I absolutely love the gold background to the top photo - We are standing at the base of a Golden temple, its absolutley stunning. All the temples are built by hand, down to the tiles and ceramics. They say it takes ages to build these temples, but thats fine by the Thai people,... they are in no rush, when it gets done, it gets done - unlike us Westerners who want everything done "yesterday" This guy here was one of my favourites - he was one of a dozen "monkeys" carrying a mountain.... there is a story behind why he is carrying the mountain - but I did not retain that information!! typical of me really.. But I do know that the colours on the monkeys (and most temples) represent the jewells found in Thailand,

Red = rubies Blue = Saphires Green = Emeralds

Hence the colourful post as a tribute!

This is the reclining buddha - and as mentioned in the earlier post - this was something that I really wanted to see while in Bangkok! It was sooo amazing! The Thai culture is fascinating and the people are great. I learnt in Bangkok the value of doing the little hands together "like you are a child prying" and and nodding with the words of "sawadee ka" to say hello or "kopoomka" to say thank you - I found that it made things a lot easier!

We are home

We have returned to the "real world" back to work and getting up early....

SORRY DID I SAY WE!!!! ....I mean ME!!

Mr Dave does not go to work, school or anywhere - Not even the mailbox lately by the look of it! I've collected the mail after work nearly everyday since we got home!!

Yes I know - I am having a right little whinge - but thats because I now work full-time!! And I can't begin to explain how incredibly unhappy I am with the situation.... That's because folks, I START AT 7.30.... IN THE MORNING!!!

I sure hope the pay is worth it!

Although I complain - I am aware that I am really quite fortunate, I enjoy the work, Dave has looked after me with yummy meals and generally doing most of the washing... I just need some time to adjust my body clock and then I shall be a lot more positive...

So as i say we are back from our wonderful honeymoon - I have a few more photos that I will post, so you can see some of the great things we saw in Bangkok.

The next project, aside from expanding our little family, is getting the garden looking smicko, as I didn't spend all my holiday money I had a little spend up at the nursery in Perth and brought home a carload of plants.... mwhah ha ha ha!! Now we need just a little bit more rain and things will start looking great!

Anyways I gotta get back to work - Hi to everyone who has a look at our blogspot from time to time... Hope you all like it.. if there is anything you want us to put in and update - let us know!

Phuket honeymoon 3

Davie found a good magazine so I have time for one more lot of pictures...
We found this fantastic spot on Rawaii Beach, on one side of the road are BBQ's and little shack type cafe's and then across the road on the beach are these little short legged tables on mats. The view is fantastic and the seafood is really cheap - their fried rice was DELISH!!! Lots of locals seem to eat there too.This little guys name is Charlie - we met Charlie after our Elephant ride, he and his girlfriend come down from the tree's everyday (usually when there are Banana's on the go) He apparently was taken from his Mum and misses being preened by her - so he gets you to do it for you!! Very strange - but cute!

This was the view from our room yesterday - palm frond pruning!! No ladders - no harness - no workplace "occ health and safety" reps! Then again - that might be the lady in green below, but from what I saw, she was only on the lookout for guests!

Scooter time!!
If you want to add excitement and adventure (not to mention 10yrs) to your life then hiring a scooter and rocking around Phuket in monsoonal rain is for YOU!!! At times it was not for me - however I was committed and had no choice - it was hang on or hurt!!!!
(Speaking of hurt!! My derrierre may never be the same!!!) Luckily for us there is a fantastic spa - massage place called "lets relax" its fantastic and the prices are great!!! We have spent a LOT of time in there!

This is Patong at night - where I think the place looks a lot better - during the day time you can see too much - but then again there are times at night when you can see tooooo much!! If you know Phuket - then you know what I mean!
We are having a great time - will update again soon.

Hello from PHUKET!

Here we are in Sunny phuket - I have written a whole "thing" on our travels so far - but for some reason I cant copy and paste - so I shall include the very basics as we are nearly out of time here at the internet thingy...

The hotel/resort is lovely - we got the honeymoon extra's - check out the rose petal lovehearts on the bed.









THERE ARE SHOES AND HANDBAGS!!! THEY ARE CHEAP!!







And Dave likes my chocolate croissants - note to self - I should eat them instead of taking photos of him devouring my food!!!

So far - a great time to be had - weather hasn't been brilliant - but we are enjoying nevertheless!!

We're going on a Honeymoon!!!

Only one week to go before we head to Perth to go off on our Honeymoon. We collected our tickets from Censina, our travel agent at Flight Centre, yesterday, she was great - gave us some choccies and bubbly (I "baggsied" the Chocs of course!)
This is a photo of our hotel in Phuket, the Merlin Beach Resort. Look at that pool eh?
This coming weekend we will see us packing our bags and getting ready for the trip and also some painting and work on our rental property here in Gero... as the tenants moved out today.
One week to go - one week to go - one week to go.....

When a day looks bleak

yesterday was a bad day.....
it started when I woke up to Dave giving me a gentle nudge to tell me that it was 8.00am.... NOOOO - I really didn't want to play the "get up and go" game... no not at all... by the time i had showered and got ready I had 10 minutes to get myself to Macca's for my coffee salvation and get on to work...
After stressfully waiting in the absurdly long queue of cars in the drivethru they gave me the grave news that their coffee machine was broken..... aaarrggh!

I was left with no time to go anywhere else and had to go to work empty handed... I couldn't even get Davie to go and get me a coffee - some rubbish about being in class and exams... hmmpf!
Eventually I decided that things were looking pretty drastic and I had to take extreme measures for my much needed caffeine hit, I humbled myself and got a coffee from the canteen - siiiigh!
and so began a day without good coffee...

This experience brought to mind a saying I read in a colleagues office....

"Bad Coffee is the kind of stuff that starts wars, harms kittens and generally brings the world closer to the brink of destruction."

The Big Picnic! 23 April 2006

How much fun was this picnic!!! We had a ball and we reckon that all the kids did too (big & small)
There was volleyball, football, cricket and food galore however the highlight of the day would have to have been the Lollyman chase....

Colleen (our sister-in-law) helped set this up by taping lollies to some of Dave's clothes - he wasn't wearing them at the time - so that when he put them on there were heaps of lollies all over him. His job, was to simply run around while the kids were to chase him and grab lollies off him..... easy huh?? Strangley he baulked at that and promptly talked his unsuspecting, soon to be father-in-law into the job "hook line and sinker" luckily for Dad I got wind of that plot and righted the situation (Phew! eh Dad?) The following photos aptly describe what happened next

Lawn Bowls BONANZA 22 April 06

Saturday Night at the Geraldton Bowling club saw the beginning of our weekends events... and it was on for young and young at heart.

After a huge feast of Pizza's and Icecreams (thanks Mum) teams made their way out onto the pitch/court/arena/big grassy thing to start the Bowls tournament.

There was some good hearted banter and some good old fashioned out and out sledging and of course many cries of "sorry, sorry, ooops Sorry!" and that was mainly from Rae's team.

Granma was a keen spectator and may have even given a few little coaching tips to the lucky team that was playing closest to her.
It was a great event and it was great to see everybody get in on the action and enjoy the brisk Autumn evening.
