Helen & Dene's Wedding (BALI part 2)

Last month Helen and Dene got married in Bali, all the Clan was there and we had a great time. The wedding was just breathtaking, the whole ceremony and reception all took place at these villa's. Consisting of three individual villa's with amazing outdoor bathrooms, overlooking Jimbaran Bay.... just so beautiful. (Double click on the pictures to see any of the photos in a bigger size)

The set up
The Lads, The Ladies,
Here comes the bride..
There were two ceremonies that took place, the first with a guy in robes, he did the ceremony that makes it legal in Australia. A very cute Jordan then showed us his Bob the Builder undies.... you can see him checking them out for himself... Following the first ceremony, these ladies did the Indonesian version, because she spoke very quietly - can't tell you much about it except that they banged a hammer at the end - like an Auction! Dene and Helen took advantage and scored a second session of smooches
TA - DA... we are married! Snack time for hungry kids......
The venue - awesome! On the other side of the pond is where the food was served, Buffet style, it was great stuff, the Desserts were Brilliant!! mmmyum they also had a chocolate fountain.... mmmm

Standing with my back to the beach - looking back to the villa's
Very lucky to have a stunning sunset in the background.... Helen's Bouquet
I just had to show you the bathrooms - at first it was a little daunting sitting on the toot out in the open - I adapted -
but just look how awesome it is!

Bali 2008 part one

So here are some photos from our awesome Bali holiday - for those that are unaware, we went for Helen and Dene's Wedding (Dave's Sister) All of Dave's family were in Bali and it was a great trip to catch up with everyone.
Family tea at Thai Express... we went to some groovy restaurants while over there, and this will feature strongly in this post..
Margie and Bev... waiting for some tucker.. All the ladies, ready to head out for Helen's Hens night.
All us ladies went to my favourite spot, Maccaroni Cafe. It has the most amazing layout and interior.... including the loo...
They gave us all flowers to wear behind our ears - this is our lady of the moment, Helen, considering the cocktail menu??
and Yes this is the loo...... how weird is it! It is completly covered in Mirrors - inside the cubicle and all... I took pictures - but just take my word for it!
This is the same place - just in the daylight hours, for lunch you can get a Pizza, Beer a soft drink and a coffee for 39,000rp (that's under 5 aussie dollars) I like it a lot!

This is us at the first hotel we stayed at, The Santika (we stayed one week here and one at the Alam Kul Kul) We would stay here again - it was great. Had the best breakfast and facilities, even their dayspa prices were very reasonable... two thumbs up for the Santika!Of course I got my toes and nails painted - if you go to Bali you have to - I'm pretty certain that it's a law or something..... :) hehehee
Another family tea - this time at the Sky Lounge - this is a four level building, ground floor is a juice bar/health food takeaway type place, second level is a diner style cafe, this, the third level that we are on here, is a real funky lounge around style thing... and on the open air top floor is more a nightclubby type space. Food here is great and overwhelming choice!! As you can see Dene chose some tropical icecream concoction, it probably has some fancy name - but it escapes me....Did I mention that there was a couple of incidences that led to hospital visits? Yeah Dave met Kuta reef, nearly brought some home with him... in his back..... shudder! Then the next day he met his surfboard, with his head and somehow his neck came out second best! Thus begins the very relaxing part of our holiday.
This is Papa's cafe, part of the front our hotel - Alam Kul Kul
Where we feasted for Lunch one day - look closely - Dave looks like he is about to be clobbered by "Papa"This is me, being relaxed. (and looking pretty happy to be off my diet plan - yay) Dave also out the front of the Alam Kul Kul...
An example of the resting and the relaxation enforced by injury... not too shabby eh! When Dave was feeling a bit more mobile, we went up to Ubud and took in the Monkey forrest and temple.
This is the crazy Monkey that attacked me - moments after this shot was taken, the red handbag (pictured) was used with some force to fend him off... Sneaky little hairball.
Speaking of sneaky - some baby, some where is distraught, and unable to be comforted. We were told to try the lotus cafe in Ubud, upon this reccomendation we did... wasn't top of my fave list - but the food was ok. Mine came out in a pineapple....

Yup a pineapple - but hey I was just happy to be eating RICE!!! Yay !!!
