SYDNEY Weekender - August 2010

SYDNEY,
Dave had a course to attend, so whilst he did that = I explored the city.

On arriving in Sydney we took the train into the city, a double decker train. A novelty for me, pretty sure I haven't been on one before.

We had some time to explore together, and decided to take a tour of the Opera House... which was spectacular and the views were simly amazing. We enjoyed seeing inside this iconic and historically contraversial structure.

We got to mung out on some mighty yummy food, in some great little cafes and restaurants...

I enjoyed finding all the markets.. Paddington Markets was great , not to be confused with Paddys Markets - (cheap imported junk) located in the suburb of Paddington, there was so many beautiful things to eat, hear and see. I even got serenaded with "a little ray of sunshine"
CHINESE FRIENDSHIP GARDENS

This was one of my favourite spots that I found.... I wish I'd had our proper camera, as my phone camera does not even hint at how lovely it was... Just have to go back again!

A few more of our favourite things... A signed Masterchef uniform in the window near our hotel, a funky tin car near the asian food hall where we went looking for tea one night, a display for the release of the new iPhone 4 at midnight opposite the train station in Darling Harbour. The Monorail... a few shots on and from the monorail.... I LOVE THE MONORAIL!
Centre Point Tower - our last stop

Dave and I splashed out and went for a really lovely lunch up in Centrepoint tower's revolving restaurant.... it was such a nice way to say goodbye to Sydney. We flew out a few hours later.

Back on the Road again.... JULY/AUGUST

BACK IN BIMBY

We were in Mullumbimby in time for a party - complete with musicians and fireside stories
and also to witness Robyns surprise birthday gift from Paul, a Helicopter ride, with front yard pick up. An amazing sight, and a brilliant surprise from the unsuspecting birthday girl.

I had time to plan and complete a quilt for the caravan. Using my favourite colour combinations of that month.

Family Trip to Yamba

We had a lovely time with the Berringtons at Yamba, we enjoyed some warmer moments, plenty of much needed sunshine. My favourite thing was finally getting out and about on my scooter after 7 months without!!

We all took our bikes on the ferry to Iluka, located opposite Yamba. It was a fun trip, we all went, Scooter the dog and my scooter the bike :) It was funny to see it on a boat.

I think Dave's favourite thing was getting out into some really good surf, and having Charlie and Paul to go surfing with!

This is me at Angourie, the famous surf spot, quite near where the boys surfed.
The other shot is Dave scrambling to fix the leak in our Caravan roof.... behind him is a big storm cloud about to drop a 'bucket-load' of rain.

A trip up to Brisnbane, and we caught up with our good friend Emma. Great fun as always.

Last days in Geraldton.... July 2010.

Before we headed off back to our travels, we caught up with a few special people ...

The Family....

Ian, Tracey and the kidlets were heading north for a holiday and we got an opportunity to see them on their way up. Here are a few piccies

Me & my earmuffs (earmurfs?)
Ben showing us his amazing ability to fit into his little sisters clothes... note my very concerned expression. (concerned on many levels)

Ian & Dave (next to Caleb) messing up the little kids game on the swings (big bullies)
Uncle Dave & Caleb sharing a pretty little cosy blankie... so sweet.

Two beautiful neices...

Levi's Birthday,

Lucky us, just before we left we got an invite to his Birthday... he had a "mooshi monster" cake.

Cathe and little Matilda having a cuddle
The Boys about to blow out the candles.... they have a 'ritual' (yes, at their age) where they all scream like big girls once the candles get blown out...... it is VERY noisy.

fun times... and then we up and left for QLD.
